People die every day. More so on April 1st on any other, one would imagine, from sheer stupidity. Though stupidity is not limited to that ridiculous holiday. In my opinion, everyone needs to stop making such a fuss about it all and get on with their lives.

There is a certain inbuilt mechanism into most human beings that when the sun goes down, they need to scurry on back to shelter where they can believe themselves safe. There are several exceptions to this rule (as there are to any rule); those who are too drunk to care, those who ensconce themselves in groups to give the illusion of safety, those who are too maniacal to care and those ministry specimens that show up where a wizard has decidedly done something wrong and the mindless muggle morons need their minds tampered with. I can't say I disagree with the concept, we have to protect ourselves, but there are times, such as walking through London, I've wanted to petrify one of those muggle children that seem so without manners they don't even say excuse me. Perhaps manners is only a wizarding thing and muggles haven't gotten past the barbarian stage. It wouldn't surprise me.
Never the less, the idea of an altered mind is a terrifying concept. Imagine being trapped between reality and some forced illusion, fogged up and enveloping what your true nature is because someone says that your nature is wrong. Nature can cause problems, I will admit that, I am hardly a child who thinks their way is the only way, but rationally speaking, mind modification seems like robbing someone of something they should have. I think it ought not to be a power the ministry has, for what if it were to use it to it's advantage? A frightening concept. With the imperius curse outlawed and this not, I don't understand the way those peoples mind work. Aren't they the ones promoting unity and fairness and all that claptrap if the ministry itself goes around raping peoples minds?
